Joan Reyes, Esq is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and received her law degree from Hofstra University School of Law. Joan has over 23 years of insurance defense litigation experience in the areas of professional, premises, labor law and automotive litigation. Prior to joining Carman Callahan and Ingham, LLP, Joan was employed at Progressive Casualty Insurance Company as the Managing Attorney and was responsible for overseeing the attorneys that covered the Bronx, New York and Westchester County venues while continuing to manage her own large loss files. She was also responsible for the onboarding, training and development of over 20 attorneys in all areas of litigation. At Progressive Casualty, Joan founded the New York House Counsel Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement Committee and also created the educational training program for the development of the paralegals. Prior to joining Progressive, Joan was a Senior Attorney at one of New York’s oldest insurance defense firms concentrating primarily on premises liability and Labor Law cases. During her twenty plus years of litigating cases, she has tried numerous cases to verdict in the Bronx, Queens, New York, Kings and Westchester counties. Joan is admitted in both the the Eastern and Southern District Courts of New York and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
